Martin
R. Glickstein, CPA - Shareholder |

Marty Glickstein has been serving the special accounting needs
of commercial, professional, retail and wholesale businesses
since 1970. He is well experienced in tax and financial
reporting, and prepares and reviews individual, corporate,
partnership, and trust tax returns, focusing on small to
mid-sized companies.
A native of Florida, he received his Bachelor of Science degree
in Accounting from Jacksonville University. He has proudly
served in the Coast Guard Reserves, and has given of his time by
serving on various Boards of Directors throughout the community.
Marty is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants, and the Florida Institute of Certified Public
Accountants.

Rodney S. Laval, CPA - Shareholder |

Rod has devoted himself to the accounting, tax and computer
service needs of the small business person and private citizen.
He has considerable experience in the areas of construction,
not-for-profit organizations and personal service corporations
(i.e. attorneys, physicians, insurance and real estate agents).
Rod has experience with national CPA firms and in the private
accounting sector, during which time he gained valuable
financial knowledge as trust operations supervisor for a large
regional bank.
Rod is a member of the American and Florida Institutes of
Certified Public Accountants. He has served in executive
capacities on various boards of directors and homeowner
associations.
Raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, Rod has been a resident of
Central Florida since 1971. He served in the U.S. Air Force and
received his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the
University of South Florida.

W. Neal Carris, CPA - Shareholder |

A graduate of Valencia Community College and the University of
Central Florida, Neal Carris has been practicing public
accounting in the Central Florida area since 1978.
Neal audits and reviews financial statements for companies in
industries that include: Construction, Manufacturing, Wholesale,
and Not-for-Profit organizations. Neal ran his own independent
CPA firm from 1984 through 1991, at which time he joined
Glickstein Laval Carris, P.A.
In 2008, Neal was appointed to the City of Orlando Audit Board.
Neal is a member of both the American and Florida Institutes of
Certified Public Accountants and is active in community and
fraternal organizations.

James M. Loomis, CPA

Jim Loomis began his career in
public accounting in 1972. He provides audit, review,
compilation and other financial accounting services. He also
provides tax compliance services to meet the needs of
individuals, corporations, partnerships and trusts with an
emphasis in small to medium size businesses. He has over 25
years of experience with not-for-profit, manufacturing,
commercial, and professional service (attorneys, physicians,
insurance and real estate) organizations.
Jim was in analytical cost accounting for several years before
entering public accounting, and was previously the managing
partner of Loomis and Hable, P.A. for nine years before joining
Glickstein Laval Carris, P.A.
He is a member of the American and Florida Institutes of
Certified Public Accountants, and has served on various
community boards. These include current chairman of the National
Aviation Safety Foundation, and Director/Treasurer of the
Florida Chiropractic Foundation for Education and Welfare, as
well as founding membership on the Board of Directors of the
Orlando Shakespeare Festival, and past Board Chairman of the
Episcopal Counseling Center.
After serving in the United States Air Force, Jim returned to
Central Florida and received his Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration (Accounting) from Florida Southern College.

Mary C. Dantuma, CPA, MST - Shareholder |

Mary Dantuma has been in public accounting since 1986, working
with small businesses in the areas of audits, review,
compilations and tax preparation. She has extensive experience
at auditing not-for-profit organizations, condominium and
homeowner associations. Mary has also written extensively on the
accounting and tax issues that face community associations.
Mary holds CPA certificates in the states of Ohio and Florida.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree
from the University of Toledo in Ohio. She also holds a Master
of Science in taxation, from the University of Central Florida.
She is a member of the American, Florida and Ohio Institutes of
Certified Public Accountants, and is currently Treasurer of
Community Associations Institute.

Bethany K.

Bethany has been practicing Certified Public Accounting in
Central Florida since 1997. She joined Glickstein Laval Carris,
P.A., in 1998.
Bethany is a tax professional with experience in tax
preparation, consulting and planning for individuals,
corporations, partnerships and estates. Bethany enjoys training
new staff personnel who join the firm.
Bethany graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Central
Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
(Accounting). She later graduated from UCF with a Master of
Science in Taxation degree.
Bethany is a member of both the American and Florida Institutes
of Certified Public Accountants.

Richard

Richard joined Glickstein Laval Carris, P.A. in July, 2005.
Previously he was the Director of Taxation with Reponen,
Ornstein & Co., P.A., from 1985-2005. Prior to 1985, Richard’s
experience includes two national CPA firms, with particular
emphasis in the areas of partnerships, real estate, and
international taxation.
He has been active as a public speaker for the Central Florida
Chapter of Certified Public Accountants, and several other
national organizations. Richard currently is President-Elect of
the Central Florida Chapter of the FICPA. Previously he served
on the same Board of Directors as Chairman of the Local
Practitioners Committee, and on the Board of Directors of
Congregation Beth Am as Treasurer and Budget Committee Chairman.
He is a founding Director and Vice President/Treasurer of
Greyhound Ranch Adoptions, Inc., a non-profit organization
devoted to the preservation of retired racing greyhound lives by
providing shelter and medical care, permanent placement of
greyhounds in adopting households, and educating the public
regarding the characteristics of the greyhound breed.
Richard has the overall responsibility for the firm’s tax
practice, along with tax research and the monitoring of tax
legislation and its impact upon clients. Richard also has a
special emphasis in the areas of estate and retirement planning,
federal and state income taxation, business entity structures,
passive loss rules and foreign investment in U.S. real estate.
Richard received his Master’s Degree in Accounting with an
emphasis in taxation from the University of Arizona, Tucson, in
1981 and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in
1976 from Allegheny College, Meadville, Pennsylvania.
He is a member of both the American and Florida Institutes of
Certified Public Accountants.

Paula M.

Paula Taylor has been practicing public accounting since 1983.
From that time she has provided tax and consulting services to
help business owners achieve their desired outcome. She now
devotes her time to providing investment management services
using a client-focused process. For families who need it, she

Paula received her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the
University of Central Florida in 1983 and graduated Summa Cum
Laude. She is a member of the AICPA in the personal financial

Certified Financial Planner CFP®, a Personal Financial
Specialist and a Florida licensed Life Insurance agent.

J. Russell

Russell Hamlin has been in public
accounting since 1964 working in the areas of income and estate
tax planning. Russell’s experience includes 15 years with two
international CPA firms in their Baltimore, Maryland and Orlando
offices, and for the Internal Revenue Service in Washington.
D.C.
Born in Tampa, Florida, Russ was raised in the Washington, D.C.
area and became a resident of Central Florida in 1973. He
graduated from Wake Forest College in 1961 and served in the
U.S. Army until 1964.
Russell is a member of the American and Florida Institutes of
Certified Public Accountants and is the former Treasurer of Give
Kids the World, and a member of the advisory board of the
Astronaut Scholarship Foundation, two non-profit organizations.

T. Shepard

Shep Burr has been in public
accounting since 1969, focusing primarily on income tax for
businesses, real estate investors, and individuals. He had his
own independent CPA firm from 1974 – 1979, and 1984 - 2008, when
he merged his practice with Glickstein Laval Carris, P.A. to
obtain staff support for his growing clientele. From 1979 to
1984 he was a Controller for several businesses.
Shep obtained his CPA certificate in Pennsylvania, and became
licensed as a CPA in Florida in 1972. He is a 1969 graduate of
Cornell University, Bachelor of Science - Hotel Administration,
and he obtained his Masters in Business Administration degree
from Drexel University in 1973. He served with the U. S. Army
Artillery as a 1st Lieutenant from 1965 to 1968.
Frequently Shep speaks to groups of real estate investors about
entity and tax planning for buyers, sellers, and landlords. He
is active in the community, having served as President of local
Cornell Alumni chapters, boards of religious and CPA
organizations, a neighborhood association, and a time share
resort.
